Claire Stevens
2009 Layperson of the Year

The Church Council has selected Claire Stevens as Layperson of the Year 2009. Claire joined our church in 1962 and has been an active member ever since. She has set the bar high in her new position as Social Committee Chair by having fun and unique opportunities for social fellowship. She puts so much time and effort into the "Social" Sundays and does a good job in looking for a play, a ball game, or a movie to bring people together for fellowship. Claire has always been willing to make her special sandwiches for the ABW tea, work on funeral collations, etc.  Her new role as Social Committee chair has put her over the top.  The amount of planning and prep work for her monthly social events is an enormous effort and our congregation has benefited greatly. 

A longtime active member of our church, Clair has always been a willing and hard worker on many committees and groups.  For the past two years  Claire has chaired the Social Committee and during this period, monthly 'socials' she planned have given us the opportunity to meet new people and enjoy each other's company.  Many new and interesting ideas have proven to be successful. Claire is truly 'The Hostess with the Mostest'!

We will honor Claire for her dedicated service to the Lord and this congregation during the morning worship service and catered lunch on Sunday, June 7.  Tickets ($10 each) for the lunch may be purchased on Sundays after worship or through the church office.  The deadline to purchase tickets is June 1.
