The First Baptist Church of Malden
located in 493 Main St. has for many years been the venue for
worship of the believers. The lovely church building is a living
testimony of dedicated service by the past generation, evident in
the rich symbolism found in the granite structure, walls, and
fixtures. This building is the fifth house of worship for our
congregation which was organized in 1803. The cornerstone was laid
on May 16, 1890 and the building was dedicated eighteen months later
on November 24, 1891. In 1915, the interior of the building was
destroyed by fire, but the exterior granite walls stood fast,
together with faith upon which a new church home would be built.
