This is an invitation to all active members of the church to attend the Town Hall and Business meeting on Sunday, July 9, 2017 right after the worship service.

Dear Church Members:

I am writing on behalf of the Church Council to invite all active church members to a Town Hall and Business meeting on Sunday, July 9, 2017. It will begin immediately following worship with a luncheon provided by the Diaconate, and a plan to finish by 2:30 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us for a discussion of priorities for mission and ministry that will help determine the future of our congregation.

As we wind down another program year, we have much to celebrate. As part of the Town Hall portion of the meeting, we will take time to reflect on what it means to be the First Baptist Church of Malden. What do we do well? What can we improve? What are the best uses of our time, our resources, and our finances?

As part of this conversation, we also want to focus on the Boards of Christian Education and Property Trustees, both of which are facing particular challenges. Feedback from this Town Hall will help direct the work of these two Boards moving forward. The Town Hall forum will also provide an opportunity for updates regarding the new tenant for the Parish House, as well as updates on other projects including the work of the Bylaws committee.

The Finance Trustees will also present a revised 2017 operating budget for discussion and approval (to replace the 6-month budget that was approved at the Annual Meeting). The Boards of Property Trustees and Christian Mission will also present revised 2017 budget proposals (based on reductions of expected income).

We need you to participate in these important conversation and decisions, and we ask that you please plan to attend.

Respectfully,

Lisa Jacobson
