When Simon, the Sorcerer, offered money for power to lay hands so that people will receive the Holy Spirit, Peter said “your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!…” We cannot purchase God’s love, grace, and peace. For God’s salvation from sin has already been paid through the blood of Jesus Christ shed at the cross.
