Elizabeth Kidd, RN

We welcome to our pulpit, Elizabeth Kidd. Elizabeth is a registered Nurse and founder of Place of Promise. Beth serves as Director in providing clinical and spiritual guidance for residents, children, and staff, as well as training for the next generation of ministry leadership.

As a young girl, growing up outside of Philadelphia, Beth was inspired by the many Missionaries that frequently visited her church. As a teenager, she volunteered at the Philadelphia General Hospital and saw not only the impact of poverty, disease, and addictions, but also the impact of spiritual death. She knew that she was being called to a life of ministry in her own country. After graduating from the University of Delaware, she served as an intensive care nurse to the inner-city poor and uninsured, then as a neighborhood missionary nurse, and now as founder and clinical director of Place of Promise.

For over twenty-six years, Place of Promise has maintained its focus on helping men, women, and children build new lives centered on Jesus Christ. While the challenges have changed – alcohol and drug use now starting at 10 years of age, polysubstance abuse, multi-generational separation from God, and dual-and tri-diagnosis (mental, physical, and substance abuse) – the focus on Christ has not.

Beth and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 50 years, have 4 grown children, and 6 grandchildren. Beth has mothered and grand-mothered countless more.
