Stephen “Steve” Butland passed away in his sleep on Monday, May 2, 2022. Steve is a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Malden, MA. and is a member of the church council representing the property board of the church. He directed the church’s successful yard sale on August 12, 2017 and participated in worship services of the church, the part he enjoyed most as scripture reader.
Steve was an active member of Converse Lodge of Malden, MA. named after Elisha Slade Converse, the first Mayor of Malden and generous benefactor of the First Baptist church of Malden, MA. Steve was installed as the Worshipful Master of the Converse Lodge on October 12, 2020 which made him the highest ranking of all Lodge officers. Steve was an active community supporter, especially with Rainbow and DeMolay activities.
Visiting hours and wake planned for May 15 from 9-12 at Solimine’s Funeral Home, 426 Broadway in Lynn, MA. with cemetery services on May 16 at 9:30 at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, MA. His family would love for everyone that is able to be there and give Steve a proper farewell. His son, Brian said, further details and information will be posted as the funeral gets closer.
