Jose Margen Lantin, Sr. passed away at sunrise (5:30 a.m.) in Spaulding Rehab Hospital in Cambridge, MA on Monday July 30, 2012, he was 84.

Born in the Philippines on March 18, 1928, Jose was the son of the late Macario Lantin and Anacleta (Margen) Lantin. Jose was raised and educated in the Philippines. He was a high school graduate before he went on to attend college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Jose married his sweetheart, Amelia (Suansing) on March 23, 1953 in the Philippines. Jose and Amelia celebrated their 59thwedding anniversary this past March, 2012. In 1989, Jose and Amelia immigrated to the United States and settled in Malden. Jose went to work at the Fleet Bank in Malden (now Bank of America) from 1990 until his retirement in 2000. Jose was an active layperson of First Baptist Church in Malden and enjoyed the community surrounding the church.
Jose is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amelia (Suansing) Lantin, his children; Roslyn Nowak and her husband, Andrew, of Malden, Jose S. Lantin, Jr. of Malden, Marilou Infante and her husband, Mario of the Philippines, Jocelyn Zabala and her husband, Leo of the Philippines, and Jeffrey Lantin and his wife, Joyce of Malden, his grandchildren; John and his wife Kristina, Joy and her husband Joe Riordan, Mazelle and her husband Gilbert Go, Marionne Infante, Mikaella Infante, Richard “Rocky” Zabala, Andrea “Dea” Zabala, Ysabella Lantin, Thaddeus Nowak, Moeven Go, Amelia “Mia” Riordan, Joseph “Joey” Riordan, and Mika Nowak, Melchor Lantin, his youngest brother in the Philippines, and many nieces, nephews and close relatives too numerous to mention here. In addition to his parents, Jose was preceded in death by six younger siblings.
Viewing was held in First Baptist church, Malden one hour prior to the funeral service, on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10 AM. Interment followed in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Rev. Martha Dominy, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Malden MA officiated the services.
