Thomas Mark Foxon of Tewksbury passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital. He was 91 years of age.

Born on June 24, 1929 in Boston, Mark is the son of the late Thomas Foxon and Ann (Robinson) Foxon. Mark is a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Mark was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Malden, Massachusetts. Mark’s ingenuity and inventive ideas have inspired the church to give towards many projects through his regular stewardship campaigns as well as special fundraising ventures. One of these projects is the acquisition of a new boiler with enough capacity to heat the Sanctuary and other adjacent rooms in 2004. His wit and passion motivated people to give.  Mark headed up the successful Dumpster Days and all who helped were treated with doughnuts, coffee, and Dottye’s famously delicious PB&H (or F) sandwiches and brownies.

We don’t always see Mark and Dottye doing all the things they do “behind   the scenes,” but we enjoy the fruit of their labor.  Mark spends  countless hours in the baking sun working on the church grounds, cleaning, pruning, and planting.

He was a volunteer fireman at Topsfield State Park from 1947-1953. Mark was a volunteer at Malden Emergence Center, Volunteer photographer for American Diabetes Associates of Massachusetts, volunteer educator at the Museum of Science Boston, the U.S.S. Constitution and the South Florida Museum, Bradenton, Florida. He was a fifty-year Master Mason, advisor for Reading Demolay and a First Night Boston volunteer.

When Mark wasn’t volunteering, he was employed as a New England sales manager at McKesson Chemical. He was a former president of New England Institute of Food Technologists and New England Chemical Club.

Mark is the beloved husband of Dorothy (Lent) Foxon of Tewksbury, Massachusetts. He is the devoted father of Jeffrey Foxon of Lowell, Massachusetts and Tom Foxon and his wife Wendy of Peabody, Massachusetts. Sadly, Mark was predeceased by his daughter Joy Elizabeth Foxon.

Mark is the brother-in-law Raymond Dietz of Virginia. He was predeceased by his sisters Betty Foxon, Faith Baekey and Nancy Dietz and his beloved grandson Tommy Foxon. Mark is the cherished grandfather of Scott Foxon and his wife Rebecca, Kerri Gannon and her husband Gary, Julie and Joe D’Arcangelo, Eva and her husband Jeremy Nicholas, Jenn and her husband Paul Ciaramicoli, Mike Foxon and Kori Nicholson. The doting great grandfather of Jake Gannon, Calvin and Tamsen Foxon, Tiffani, Ali and Joseph D’Arcangelo, Cassidy and Cameron Nicholas, and Addy and Mayla Ciaiamicoli, he also leaves 6 nieces and nephews.

At the request of Mark’s family, funeral services are private and they hope to hold a celebration of his life when the restrictions are lifted.
