Eighteen years ago, today*, our beloved Minister of Music passed away after a brief and courageous battle against cancer. Bob, as we commonly call him, was a graduate of Malden High School and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from Boston University. He was our Minister of Music for 45 years.
Bob was a gifted musician and brought pleasure to hundreds of people through his piano and organ concerts. He will always be remembered for sharing his gift to us. Below is a selection he performed with the majestic Skinner Organ in our church on April 25, 1999:
In Remembrance
Robert Kirkland Love was a man of love.
We know his spirit is with God above,
His musical knowledge was in excess.
He was a man of adoration, we must confess,
He is sorely missed and always will be.
