Christmas Eve Worship Service 2020

On Christmas Sunday, the message “Turning Christmas Around” is still a learning experience to most of us. Why?  Please listen again  Scripture is Isaiah 9:2-7; John 3:16-17; 12:20-36.  This Christmas week, let us reflect and celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ into the earth.  Click link below for the worship service:

Worship Service December 20, 2020

Dear Church Family Members:

Christmas this year will be very different for most of us.  Many of us may limit the number of those with whom we meet in person to celebrate Christ’s birth.  We will not celebrate Christmas Eve together at the church, but there will be a recorded service for those with internet access.  Read more

Irene Hofmann sings  “What We All Want For Christmas Is Peace” by Joel Raney

It’s the Fourth Sunday of Advent and this is Christmas Sunday. While we cannot be together in church worship, we still can keep the tradition alive by lighting our own candles and  sing “Light the Advent Candle, Four”

Light the Advent Candle, Four: Think of joy forever more;
Christ child in a stable born, Gift of love that Christmas morn.
Candle, candle, burning bright, Shining in the cold winter night;
Candle, candle, burning bright, Fill our hearts with Christmas light.

Words and music by Mary Lu Walker. Paulist Press, 1975. Used by permission. CCLI#460144

Advent season is a tradition in our church as we wait with  expectation the birth of Jesus Christ. It is seen as a time to prepare our hearts for Christmas and for the eventual return of Christ and the judgment He will bring to the world.

Fourth Sunday of Advent is Christmas Sunday, December 20, 2020 “Light the Advent Candle, Four”

Third Sunday of Advent, December 13, 2020 “Light the Advent Candle, Three”
Second Sunday of Advent, December 6, 2020 “Light the Advent Candle, Two”

November 29, 2020 is First Sunday of Advent.  Advent season is a tradition in our church as we wait with  expectation the birth of Jesus Christ.
It is seen as a time to prepare our hearts for Christmas and for the eventual return of Christ and the judgment He will bring to the world. The first candle is the candle of “hope and expectation”. While we cannot be together in church worship, we still can keep the tradition alive by lighting our own candle and join in singing “Light the Advent Candle”.

October 11 is Pastor’s Appreciation Sunday.  So, let us take time to praise the Lord for sending us our Pastor, Rev. Martha Dominy. An example of Faithful Service and a Life of Faith, Pastor Martha has led the church humbly and faithfully in worship, discipleship, missions, worship outreach,  bible study, good stewardship, building upkeep, feeding ministry, and other church activities so numerous to mention. This Video is dedicated to Rev. Martha A. Dominy, who has been our Pastor since 1995 to the present. Organ Music by Marilyn Glover. “Come, Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain” St.Kevin by Arthur S. Sullivan. Video published on October 11, 2020

Thank You Pastor, Rev. Martha Dominy

This Thanksgiving Day,  Pastor Martha Dominy writes:

Dear Church Members,

For what or whom are you thankful? This year has been filled with anxiety producing events and many of us may be feeling uncertain and worried, perhaps finding it difficult to find anything for which to be thankful. Read full letter >

Come now and let us worship together. Today’s message is entitled, “Name Power”. When Peter, who was teaching and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead in Jerusalem, was asked by the rulers, elders and teachers of the law, “By what power or what name did you do this?” Peter replied “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.  Please click link below and join us in worship:

Scripture: Exodus 33:12-23

Robert K. Love’s 18th Death Anniversary remembered. Please click for article with audio clips here.

Celebrating Independence day is significant  as it reminds us of the freedom that comes with it. But personal freedom to do what we want is not enough. We still long for peace and freedom from sin that only Christ Jesus can give. True freedom requires more and Pastor Martha Dominy speaks about it in her sermon entitled “Freedom In Christ”. Scripture: John 8:31-36. Now is our Worship service “Freedom In Christ”

Our worship service today includes the holy communion or the Lord’s Supper. Please feel free to partake of the bread that represents Christ’s body and the cup (grape juice or wine) that represents His blood that was shed for the remission of our sins in the privacy of your home together with your family.

In times of crisis like today, are you prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have in Christ? Words with good works are essential testimonies, but above all people will look at how you live your life. Today’s message by Rev. Martha Dominy is about “Holy and Healthy Living”. Scripture is 1 Peter 3:13-22. Please click link for our Worship Service:  “Holy and Healthy Living”

This sermon is about honoring all fathers with whom God bestowed wisdom and strength to fulfill His plan here on earth. Pastor Martha focuses her message on the roles that fathers play which somehow reflect God’s attributes as the perfect Father of mankind. To listen, please click link: “Perfect Father”.

We celebrate Trinity Sunday every first Sunday after Pentecost. Trinity is one God existing in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Have you ever asked if you are related to royalty? Rev. Martha Dominy tells that you are. Background scripture is from Genesis 1:1-2:3. Listen to the message here.

On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit … the day when the Christian church began. Pastor Martha delivers her message entitled “Second Act”. Scripture is from John 20:19-23.
Interestingly, this is about a victory lap over obstacles in life. Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Do you want to hear inspirational stories? or perhaps you are weary and desperate right now. Then this message is for you. Please click link for the worship service “Second Act”

Reopening of the church building for in-person worship has no specific date per evaluation by the Rev. Martha Dominy and the church leadership Boards. Pastor Martha Dominy explains the reason behind this decision.  Learn more >

Today, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus is Alive! Our online Worship Service will be available at 11:00 a.m. Please spread the word to family members and friends.

The Church Tower Bells will ring at 12:00 noon today. Listen to Easter hymns played. Parking lot is available for those who wish to listen.

Dear Church Family Members:

How do you view life? Are you a “glass-half-full” or a “glass-half-empty” type of person? In recent weeks there have been many “half-empty’ days as we endure the coronavirus pandemic and resulting economic collapse. But even in this challenging time, there have been “half-full” moments – when neighbors help neighbors, teachers reach out to students through internet communications, families grow closer as they spend more time together, etc. Read Rev. Martha Dominy’s message >

Let’s listen to the Good Friday Service Meditation by Pastor Martha Dominy with Special Music by Richard Freeman and Marilyn Glover. Meditation is entitled “It Is Finished”. To listen please click here.

“… God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8   That is why Good Friday is referred as “Good.” “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Let’s listen to the Maundy Thursday Service Meditation by Pastor Martha Dominy with Special Music by Richard Freeman and Marilyn Glover at the Organ. Meditation is entitled “Following Jesus’ Example”. To listen please click here.

The Thursday before Easter is known as Maundy Thursday. Maundy is derived from the Latin word for “command,” and refers to Jesus’ commandment to the disciples to “Love one another as I have loved you.” Two main acts happened during this time. First, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples also called Communion (Luke 22:19-20). Second, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as an act of humility and service, setting an example that we should love and serve one another in humility (John 13:3-17). Should we observe Maundy Thursday? The Bible neither commands nor forbids it. As Christians, it is a good thing to remember the Last Supper and Jesus’ example of humility in service.

Palm Sunday starts the Holy Week. Easter Sunday comes next to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Palm Sunday celebrates the triumphal entry of Jesus in Jerusalem when He was met by the people in jubilation, waving palm leaves shouting “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!” Matthew 21:9
